Avon Cosmetics was born in 1886 by David H. McConnell. David was a book sales person who use perfume as an incentive to get the attention of his customers to buy his books. Amazingly he found out that most women are interested in his perfume and not the books. This makes him decide to create a small perfume company in New York, which engage in manufacturing and shipping. David hired Mrs. P. Albee an expert in perfumes as first representative with the help of Albee the company grew and in 1939 the company changed its name to Avon Products Inc.
Today, Avon is marketed in over 35 countries and has three million representatives all over the world selling Avon cosmetics products. Avon became the fastest growing cosmetic company in the world with it sales reaching eight billion dollars a year and still continues to grow.
There are also products for men that Avon is offering such apparel, gadgets, jewelry, perfumes and skin care cosmetics. Under apparel for men, products include shirts, denim pants, polo’s and shorts. They offer gadgets too like watches, lighters. Perfumes for men are also available such as Black Suede and Wild Country.
Under the skin care products include face cleansers, body lotion, deodorant, soaps, aftershave cream, and facial wash.
